Water, the very foundation of life itself. Without it, we would quite literally die. It's a bringer of health and for that reason alone, you should be getting enough of it. You will find that merely drinking water to help fix your acne scarring will probably not be enough to fix the acne scarring. It's a pain, I know. However, water is the bringer of good health, and you can only heal when you've got good health. In addition to drinking more water, here are some ways to remove acne scars with water.

Drink More Of It. How much water DO you actually drink? Chances are that it isn't enough. Many people advocate that you consume about eight glasses of it a day - others disagree because you receive a lot of water though your food (that is in fact the purest source, assuming you eat a lot of fruits and vegetables). While that's true, consume as much as your body wants. If you actually listen to your body and what it needs, you just might find that it wants to drink a lot more then you're giving it. Stop listening to me and the other 'health experts' that have told you what to put in YOUR body and start listening to what you wants. It just might want a bit more then you're giving it. While drinking more water probably won't do a hang of a lot for your scars, you just might find that the added water is what your body needs to heal.

Face Cloth. Soak a face cloth in some warm water and lay it over your face for ten minutes or so. This will help to open the pores and let the oils and greases out that contribute to further outbreaks. When you're finished with the face cloth you can use a natural soap and exfoliation tool like a loofah sponge to give your face a nice clean.

Ice Cubes. This one I agree isn't that effective long term, and that's because it helps to tighten the pores and smooth the skin. It is however fairly useful if you're about to go out for the night (for example) and you need a quick fix. Rubbing some ice cubes will help to tighten and smooth the skin, and will also help to reduce the colour of any colourful scars you might have. As I said, not very useful long term, but can be used in the here and the now.

Does Drinking Water for Acne Scars Help?

Isn't that a tempting thing? Just drinking water to remove your scarring! Well, as it turns out, drinking more water is a fantastic way to add more life to your skin, and generally improve your health. Isn't that weird?! Most people would tell you that no, drinking water will not reduce the appearance of your acne scarring, and the chances of it really working for you are very slim. However we all know that water is a foundation of life, and without it we'd literally die! So if you're not drinking enough water, drinking more will not only make an improvement to your health, it could just make an improvement to your scarring as well.

OK- how much water? There is a lot of debate about this. Most people say eight glasses a day. Others say that isn't that necessary because you get a lot of your water through food. That's true as well. Then you get other health food fanatics that say you should drink a liter or two just after you get up in the morning! Gulp.

Personally, I think it's somewhere in the middle. Drink as much as your body wants. Stop listening to what other people say (you can stop listening to me just down there are the bottom of this article) and start listening to what YOU want. What your body wants. It knows better than any doctor or health person that I know. It knows exactly how much water it wants to consume, so why not let it do that? I usually consume between 1.5 liters and 2.5 liters of water a day. My body simply loves the stuff. I keep a bottle on my desk so it's available when it wants it. I suggest you do the same.

If your body's messages aren't that clear, next time you head off to the toilet, check the colour of your pee. If it's a straw colour then you are perfectly hydrated. If it's dark, you're a bit dehydrated! If it's gone clear, you've drunk a bit more water then your body needs - that's okay though because your body does have an elimination mechanism, a way to get rid of what it doesn't want or need. So you don't need to worry about consuming too much (always listen though. If you're listening correctly you'll know when you've had enough to drink).

12 Effective Overnight Treatments for Acne

Acne is something that doesn't only affects teenagers, but there are also many adults who are suffering from it.
